Interesting Rambling

Inspired by "Sophie's World" by Jostein Gaarder
Within the first few pages, I found possible the greatest philosphical question I have and or will ever hear. Who are you. This brings up the questions, What are you. What are we. Who are we. Hardly anwerable questions. Sure the straight and easy answer is obvious, we are humans, people living on earth. But why does earth exsist? Was it God that put it there, did God make the universe and all of space too? How did God come to existance, what is existance? Why did God chose the earth? Wouldn't it be cool if instead, God created a six or more dimensional universe, a spec, being the first demension. Then, a line, the spec extended horizontally, the second demension. Then, the line can turn, vertically, thus, no longer a spec, but a hoprizontal and vertical line, with the ablility to make a square. The third demension. Now, the spec can turn away from being horizontal and vertical, thus, adding what we call the third demension and has no other name of which I can think of. Now, the spec has been transformed into a cube. It is also important to realize the the line isn't limited only to straight horizontal and vertical, but at angles, thus something like a trianle, or a sphere even. The forth demension. The fifth demension here is time, so now, the spec, line, and cube can not only for one singal instance in time, (no begging, or end of existance) but can now exist for ever, or only a short period of time. Now, are you ready for this? The sixth demension is hardly imaginable for me, and most likly most other people. Now that you have time, the existance of an object for an a spacific period of time, you can go on to figure that just like with the spec, no time (similar to the first demension with just the spec.) with the sixth demension turns the spec of time into a line of time. So, now you can figure out what's next, the line of time, or time line, now becomes a vertical and horizontal time line, what this means, I'm not sure of, but becuase of the reapeting nature of science, it is quite possible. And then then becomes three demensionable. Now, is this a type of world we live in, and just don't realize it? Why could this world be like this, and again, Who are you, Who are we. What are we.

The differance

It's interesting how life in Rochester is so incredibly differant from rural areas. It's hard to say what makes them differant, well, not really, but... probably that fact that in urban areas, you get more diversity and culture. Thus, most people are more open, becuase if you aren't, you'll have about five friends. However, in the rural areas, people are much closer, alot of them are family... everybody tpyically does the same type stuff. So, when I, who spent a good part of my life growing up in Rochester, got moved out to the rurals, it was a slight culture shock. Sure, we all speak the same language and what not, and you would think that there wouldn't be a significant change in culture... Well, there was. Yes, people here are just as open as many people in Rochester, but up here, their not quite as used to it. Once you get to know them, the people up here, I think, make better friends the in Rochester. However, it balances back out, it seems to me, becuase although their all great friends, and people, the society up here tends to lean a little more on the anti-normal then in Rochester. For instance, up here, most people hunt... I don't so, naturally, it's "Hey, did you get a deer over the weekend, oh yeah, I forgot, you don't even own a gun..."
Now, I realize, that the same thing would probably happen in Rochester, if most of the people did something the same. But, in a diverse world, that just doesn't happen. Yeah, sure the north woods are great, long bland winters, beautiful fall and springs, exciting summers (only in short doeses), you can expect the same thing this year as last year... I can manage, though their is one thing that is nawing at the back of my head, non-stop... I don't belong here... I can live here, but I don't belong. Not here, sucluded the world, with the only the culture of the norm. to grasp...

"An Inconvenient Truth"

I recently saw the movie, or rather the documentary, "An Inconvenient Truth". It was an excellent presentation about global warming. Full of very interesting facts, some very obvious, though I doubt a lot of people realize them though. I definitely recommend this to everyone, of any race, age, party, etc.

One of the things wrong with the world.

The difficulties of the world, such a disapointment that society can't come together and fix a few minor problems here and there to make the world a better place. For instance, why can't parents put in a little extra effort here and there to teach there kids to be considerate of others. Now, I realize that often times, it isn't the parents teaching kids a disrespect of moral values like this, but actually society. So, I guess my real question is why can't society work together a little bit to teach our kids a little respect for others.
There is a Junior at my school, both her and I are activists, the Levy Refferendum in our town is on the verge of failing, for the fifth time. If it fails this time all sports, and other extra curricular activities will be cut, class sizes will be increased to 40+ plus students, and there will me minimal AP and Honor classes. So, of course, there is a campiegn to get people to vote yes. On the student side of things, we started a student group. This girl is the president (of course), I the vice president. Now, this girl is not very informative, or helpful. If I find out about any important events I should attend, she's the last person I'll hear from. She also has a tendancy to cut me off from doing anything worth doing toward getting the refferendum to pass. For instance, just today, there was a meeting for students to attend to dealing with doorknocking. Now, I and my friend helped organize this. The before said girl was going to get a bunch of people to come (along with my friend and I). And, of course, the girl didn't even show up herself. Now, I have come to realize that she only does things to get her name in the paper, or raconized by many people.
It also sadens me that out of the sixty or seveny people my friend and I personally spoke to, only eight came to this meeting. And those eight came directly form football practice becuase there coach said the entire team should go (of course not even half the team showed up).

Now, my theory is that society were perhaps a little nicer, maybe, just maybe things like this would have better outcomes.
And so, If you read this (which you obviously have) I am asking you to be a little nicer to the youngens, they are the people of tomorrow, and how you act around them today will infuence the rest of their life.

The Question Of Life

The question being whether or not human kind can realize that we are about to defeat ourselves in the never ending race to comply with the nature of events upon of which we all exist, but only to the extent of willingness to comply with the coinciding elements.
